In order to highlight the importance of driving safely Leasedrive has introduced a ‘Driver Excess Management Scheme’ to drivers when they have an ‘at fault’ accident/incident in their company vehicle.

The Scheme

The ‘Driver Excess Management Scheme’ sees an excess charged in the event of a repeat accident/incident, changing a driver’s behaviour towards their company vehicle. The excess, a consequence of an ‘at fault’ accident, influences their behaviour and responsibility when driving, as well as raising their awareness of their own duty of care obligations towards driving safely.

The resulting positive behavioural changes influence:

  • Self-awareness of personal risk
  • Accident frequency and costs
